Blame vs. Responsibility
Watching HBO’s Chernobyl for the first time, I was struck by how a culture of blame made an already unimaginable disaster worse at every turn. Naturally, it got me thinking about product development.
I’ve been designing for 25 years, which means I’ve had to learn, unlearn, and relearn how to do this work more than a few times. But the through line is pretty simple: I like solving problems. My mom calls me a fixer.

When I’m not working, I’m usually hanging out with my daughters, who keep me busy with sports, board games, baking, and life in general. I also spend a fair amount of time designing logos, stickers, and merch for local sports teams and community organizations.
Sometimes I show up to a meeting with a black eye, courtesy of a stray softball or an early morning Brazilian jiu-jitsu practice. I also hold strong opinions about the genius of Tim Robinson and the band Ghost.
